So as many of us know… Wiz Khalifa was recently arrested in North Carolina for possession of marijuana… big surprise right… not even…. however this whole incident brought a lot to light… E*Klipse even mentioned on twitter (@EstarChamploo) how funny it was that the same people who were on the Wiz bandwagon instantly turned against him as soon as trouble became present… It’s like people wait to kick you while you are down… that’s why personally I’d prefer to have true loyal fans than bandwagon groupies because as soon as they see you down they’re out…

What else that came to mind is the Wiz Khalifa movement in it’s entirety… don’t get my wrong I am a TRUE Wiz fan… but I find it incredibly funny and crazy that us as a society and Hip Hop as a culture are quick to support a movement that consists of smoking marijuana rather than a movement of value… If Wiz was the rapper that said “let’s feed all of America’s homeless” would you walk around looking for volunteer opportunities? I highly doubt it… So what exactly do YOU the FANS stand for at the end of the day? Everyone can’t make a living off of marijuana.

What is hating?

I ask this question because daily I see people use the term in what I feel is an incorrect fashion. In my opinion hating stems from envy of other person. So in order to “hate” on someone there would have to be some line of envy or jealousy towards that person. What people fail to grasp is the difference between DISLIKE and ENVY. I see so many times where someone won’t like an artists music and automatically they are branded a “hater”. No, I’m not a hater.. I just think you suck. That’s my opinion and I stand by it. Beyond the label of being a “hater” I see so many times where if someone feels as if another artists music sucks ass (excuse my french) then they are not being open to other types of music, or specifically, Hip Hop. Now, I listen to Jay Z, Kanye West, Eminem , and Lupe Fiasco, HOWEVER, you can also hear me playing Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, and Roscoe Dash. So I obviously have an open ear towards Hip Hop. I’ve learned to appreciate certain artists music by taking it for exactly what it is. When I go to the club I don’t want to hear “Hip Hop Saved My Life” I want to hear “Wasted”. When I’m chilling out I don’t want to hear “Hard In The Paint” I want to hear “Dead Presidents“.

Catch my drift?

I feel that many disputes could be avoided if people just took the time separate what hate and dislike is.

Have I been labeled a hater?

Not to my face at least.

Am I hater?

Not in the least bit.

There’s always so much talk about underground artists not supporting each other. That’s not always the case. I support Kleos & Davy, Artik Phreeze, Roddy Rod, Intalek, Lola Maxwell, and plenty others. If you are familiar with the music of these artists I just named then you know they all bring something completely different to the music scene yet all get my support.

Why?

Because in my eyes they are TALENTED. Talent gets support. Bullshit doesn’t. So before someone else gets in their feelings about someone’s dislike for their music.. step back.. breathe… and think to yourself…

“Maybe I just suck”

See.. Now we understand eachother…

P.S. I’m completely aware that talent is based off of ones opinion… and well my ears are my ears… A million people may love you… but if I think you suck hey… I’m just sparing my ears by not listening to your music

For years I have heard in relationships that I am .. well .. an “asshole” and at first it REALLY bothered me… I always thought “I don’t want anyone to think I’m an asshole” and “Am I really that bad”.. til one day I realized… and excuse my french when I say this but…

I’ve learned most people take complete honesty without any intent to sugar coat what things are as being an asshole… And personally that isn’t my issue if you have surrounded yourself with people who feed you white lies to protect your emotions just so that the raw truth can later be exposed and you feel like a complete idiot… No… with me you know EXACTLY what it is.. no questions asked… So yes.. let us make a toast to the assholes… Because without us… you’d be left with the liars masked as genuine people….
